Next-Step Leadership CEO, Dr. Angelo Markantonakis, is a product of the Syracuse City School District, and a first-generation college graduate who began his journey within education at St. Lawrence University as a Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) student. His Master’s Degree is in Education with a concentration in Adult Education from Elmira College. He holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Executive Leadership from Wingate University in North Carolina. 

Angelo became a Dean of Academic Affairs under the age of thirty, which sparked a personal journey of observing, perfecting, and then documenting best practices in leadership development, individual professional growth, social dynamics at work, and organizational change management. These experiences are neatly compiled in his first Leadership Workbook, entitled Lessons in Leadership, Volume I,which is available now for pre-order!

Angelo has presented at national and local conferences relative to Student Retention, Curriculum Scheduling, Work-Based Learning, Career and College Promise Programs, Career and Technical Education Pathways, Perkins Pathway Partnerships, Creative Marketing, Building Community Partnerships, Admission Strategies, and Early College Success. 

Dr. Markantonakis has worked in numerous leadership positions and engaged with countless institutions to build dynamic programs designed to exceed “ordinary” goals. Creating the highest quality professional outcomes for people and industry is his main commitment, and objective for Next-Step Leadership (NSL).

Angelo and his team understand the challenges leaders and managers face. In a collaborative and customized process, the goal of Next-Step Leadership is to assist other organizational leaders with creating high functioning teams, building more efficient and effective programs, diagnosing potential challenges, identifying common sense solutions, and developing and achieving strategic goals.

NSL also focuses on maximizing an individual’s distinct talents and gifts by cultivating their professional skills, encouraging lifelong learning, and promoting career growth through the use of personalized development plans and career coaching.
